Vision
Quest cataract care — Since 1979, our doctors
have performed more than 4,000 successful cataract surgeries. They
use the safest, most advanced surgical techniques for the removal
of cataracts and implantation of intraocular lenses. Cataract surgery
is performed as an outpatient procedure, with no hospitalization
required. In most cases, you can return to your normal activities
in days rather than weeks.
Vision Quest glaucoma care —
Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness worldwide and is caused
by an elevation in eye pressure. Most patients are not aware they
have glaucoma until they suffer a loss of vision. Early diagnosis
and treatment of glaucoma is essential to prevent loss of vision.
Glaucoma is more common after the age of 40 and in persons with
diabetes, African-Americans and patients with a family history of
glaucoma. Glaucoma is most often treated with eyedrops, and in many
cases a laser can be used to reduce or eliminate the need for eyedrops.
Diabetic retinopathy — Diabetic
retinopathy affects 50 percent of all Americans diagnosed with diabetes.
It damages blood vessels in the light-sensitive tissue of the retina,
which could lead to vision loss. Using leading-edge technology,
our doctors can detect diabetic retinopathy in its early stages,
even before symptoms appear.
Corneal transplants — In
some cases, corneal transplant procedures may restore vision to
otherwise blind eyes. There are many conditions in which corneal
transplantation may be considered. You can trust that Dr. Sonntag,
our highly experienced corneal transplant surgeon, will explore
every option to determine what’s best for your condition.
Eye exams — Our
doctors will check for early signs of macular degeneration and diabetes,
which can rob you of your vision. Using the latest Swiss- and German-
engineered diagnostic tools, we monitor your condition to detect
any early complications that need specialized treatment. |
