As a board-certified specialist providing glaucoma treatments and cataract surgery, Dr. Capps brings a wealth of knowledge and a patient-focused approach to our practice, enhancing our ability to provide exceptional eye care to the Treasure Valley.
A Journey of Knowledge
Dr. Capps' journey in medicine is characterized by a strong academic foundation and a commitment to advanced surgical training. Her initial academic pursuits led her to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Psychology from the University of New Orleans. Continuing her education at the same university, she earned a Master's degree in Biochemistry.
In 2016, Dr. Capps obtained her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Her dedication to specializing in ophthalmology led her to complete an internship at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon, followed by a comprehensive residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
She next accepted an invitation to undertake a specialized fellowship in Glaucoma Surgery at Ochsner Health in New Orleans. Her advanced training led her to serve for several years as a valued Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma specialist at Ochsner.

Dr. Capps refined her surgical skills and developed a treatment philosophy centered on the individual needs of each patient. Her approach emphasizes mutual understanding, respect, and shared decision-making to achieve the best possible outcomes in both cataract care and glaucoma management.

In the summer of 2024, accompanied by her husband and children, Dr. Capps made the move to the beautiful Treasure Valley. She and her family have embraced the natural beauty and family-oriented lifestyle Idaho offers. Outside of her dedication to preserving and enhancing vision, Dr. Capps enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, exploring her culinary skills through cooking, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her loved ones.
