We're beyond pleased to announce the addition of another talented surgeon the Vision Quest Team. Dr. Merkley is a Cataract, LASIK, and Glaucoma surgeon who grew up right here in Boise! He currently serves as a member of the Air Force, working at the Air Force's largest hospital, David Grant Medical Center.

For now he'll be joining us part time basis, moving to full time once his commitment is up this summer. Dr. Merkley shares our passion for helping his patients achieve their best vision, while being treated with dignity and compassion. He's also had LASIK, so he understands how life changing vision restoration can be!

"It is truly a privilege and an honor to be entrusted with the care of such a precious and sensitive part of the body as the eyes," says Dr. Merkley, "Though my work is very small and focused, I try to never lose perspective on how important having good vision is for the rest of your life's mission; your work, hobbies, goals, dreams, families, and friends."

Dr. Merkley attributes his commitment to world class care, and an uncompromising concern for safety to his military training. "My goal is to treat you as if you are family, and treat your eyes as if you are going to be flying a fighter jet."
